OUR SENIOR PASTORS
In 1980, Michael and Debbie Billings, cotton and peanut farmers since 1973 in West Texas, were mightily touched by God and were so impacted that they immediately began hosting a weekly Bible study in their home.
In 1982, they quit farming in order to pioneer their first church in the nearby county seat, just 18 miles away. Everything seemed perfect for over 14 years when quite suddenly, everything changed. In 1996 they heard God’s new assignment, said good-bye to that church family and moved to Alabama in what would begin the second phase of a big faith adventure in the Holy Ghost. They traveled from their new ministry base near Birmingham into churches from coast to coast with a new message highlighting promotion that comes from the Lord.
In 1997, they continued to minister in churches throughout the nation while also pioneering a new work in nearby Tuscaloosa. Out of this work, the Lord has raised up a congregation with a vision to pray out the plans of God and bring a healing presence into the city.
The Billings’ were each raised from birth in the Baptist church denomination, attended high school together and in 1973, were married in their hometown. Michael was ordained into the ministry through World Ministry Fellowship in 1986 and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of the Southwest in 1992. They have two sons and four grandchildren. They have been ministering together as a powerful team for over 37 years and show no signs of letting up.
